The Witcher® 3: Wild Hunt Review: Must Have For RPG Fans
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the last part of the games trilogy from the Polish studio CD Projekt RED. The action of this RPG takes place in a fantasy world where political intrigues are combined with the hunt for monsters from Slavic and Celtic mythology. Download The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and, as the witcher of Geralt, embark on a dangerous journey in search of his adopted daughter Ciri.
The graphics of this game has repeatedly received high marks from professional critics. To create this game, the developers used their engine REDengine 3. Thanks to this, it was possible to achieve a smooth loading of the world as the character moves forward. The developers paid special attention to the realistic image of grass, fur, and hair of monsters. Although, of course, there are also minor bugs: either a horse will be trapped in a fence, or a monster will get stuck in a wall. But colorful sunsets will make you forget about all this.
Throughout the game, you play as Geralt the witcher, the monster hunter, explore the open world, and complete basic and secondary missions. In the main plot, you need to find the missing Cyri, but you do not have to go strictly to the plot. The game has a lot of additional quests from minor characters, each representing a whole different story. Travel through villages and cities, chat with people, and browse bulletin boards for jobs. And do not forget to look after your weapons and equipment, replenish food and potions.
Many quests, of course, are about killing monsters, which in the game are countless species. To fight them, Geralt uses a special silversword (for people and animals he has an ordinary steel one), as well as oils, elixirs, bombs, and magic signs. If you got lost in all the info of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt review the bestiary, which describes the strengths and weaknesses of each type of monster. For example, against a noonwraith, you need to use the Sign of Yrden, and the Black Blood elixir will help in the fight against vampires. Without this useful knowledge, it will not be easy to fight at a medium level of difficulty or higher.
In addition to the numerous quests in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, there are also mini-games: fistfights, horse racing, and Gwent, the card game. And sometime after the main game release, the developers added two extensive additions. Stone Hearts is an extension of an existing location, and Blood and Wine opens a new principality of Tussent.
The game controls are carried out using the keyboard and mouse, and it is not always smooth. Unlike many similar games, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt uses a lot of keys. But this makes it especially difficult to control Geralt underwater or on a horse. If possible, use a gamepad.
Replay Value 4/5
The game has enough tasks, secrets, and opportunities for character development to hang in for a long time. Passing both additions will take a lot of time as well. And the developers added the New Game Plus mode so that you can pass The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from the very beginning, but with the collected equipment. Remember that your actions influence the development of events, so the game is worth going through again in a different way to get a different ending.
The Bottom Line
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a large-scale and epic RPG with a thought-out world, a fascinating story, excellent graphics, and music. And although there are some disadvantages, after finishing the game, you are unlikely to remember them. Download The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and meet the colorful inhabitants of the northern and southern kingdoms.
With The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt there is a chance to fall out of reality for a long time. But it is definitely worth it.
